By engaging with Rural Esteem, accessing our website, or participating in any conversation, referral, or follow-up, you agree to these Terms and Conditions.

 

1. About Rural Esteem

Rural Esteem is a social enterprise that provides early advocacy and navigation support for rural landholders and communities.

Our role is to help people:

  • reduce pressure

  • understand options

  • connect with appropriate supports

We operate with clear ethical boundaries and do not provide professional advice or crisis services.

 

2. Scope of Services

Rural Esteem provides:

  • advocacy and navigation conversations

  • option and pathway discussions (high-level only)

  • referrals to external services (with consent)

  • agreed follow-up and support navigation

Rural Esteem does not:

  • provide counselling, therapy, or mental health treatment

  • provide legal, financial, planning, or medical advice

  • act as a crisis or emergency service

  • make decisions on behalf of individuals

  • pressure outcomes or transactions

All decisions remain the responsibility of the individual.

 

3. No Professional Advice

Information shared by Rural Esteem is:

  • general in nature

  • for awareness and navigation purposes only

Nothing provided by Rural Esteem should be relied upon as:

  • legal advice

  • financial advice

  • mental health advice

  • planning or regulatory advice

Where specialist advice is required, we will encourage referral to qualified professionals.

 

4. Voluntary Engagement

Engagement with Rural Esteem is:

  • voluntary

  • non-directive

  • based on consent

You may choose to:

  • decline referrals

  • stop engagement at any time

  • withdraw consent for follow-up

Ending engagement does not affect your right to respectful treatment.

 

5. Referrals to Third Parties

Where referrals are made:

  • they are made only with your consent

  • Rural Esteem does not control or endorse third-party services

  • third-party services operate under their own terms and policies

Rural Esteem is not responsible for the actions, advice, or outcomes of external providers.

 

6. Privacy and Confidentiality

Rural Esteem handles personal information in accordance with its Privacy & Consent Policy.

By engaging with Rural Esteem, you acknowledge that:

  • limited information may be recorded to support advocacy and follow-up

  • information may be de-identified for reporting where required

  • confidentiality may be limited in circumstances required by law or where there is immediate risk of serious harm

7. Accessibility and Reasonable Adjustments

Rural Esteem is committed to accessible and respectful engagement and will make reasonable adjustments where practicable.

Requests for adjustments can be made at any time.

 

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • Rural Esteem is not liable for decisions made by individuals following engagement

  • Rural Esteem is not responsible for outcomes resulting from referrals or external advice

  • engagement does not create a professional or fiduciary relationship

Nothing in these Terms limits rights under Australian Consumer Law where applicable.

 

9. Fees and Payments (If Applicable)

Where any fee-based services are offered:

  • fees will be disclosed in advance

  • engagement will not proceed without agreement

  • fees are not contingent on outcomes

Many Rural Esteem services may be grant-funded or offered without cost.

 

10. Changes to Services or Terms

Rural Esteem may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time to reflect:

  • changes in law

  • governance or auspice requirements

  • operational improvements

The most current version will be available on the Rural Esteem website.

 

11. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia.
