Refund Policy
Last updated: 03/01/2026
1. Our Approach to Refunds
Rural Esteem is committed to fairness, transparency, and ethical practice.
Many of our services are provided at no cost, or are grant-funded or auspiced, meaning refunds are often not applicable.
Where fees are charged, this policy explains when refunds may apply.
2. Free and Grant-Funded Services
For services that are:
-
free of charge, or
-
funded by grants, donations, or auspice arrangements
No refunds apply, as no payment has been made by the participant.
Participation in these services does not create any financial obligation.
3. Fee-Based Services (If Applicable)
From time to time, Rural Esteem may offer fee-based services, such as:
-
project coordination support
-
demonstration or pilot-related services
-
ethical advisory or navigation services
Where fees apply:
-
all fees will be clearly disclosed before engagement
-
no service will proceed without agreement
4. When a Refund May Be Provided
A refund may be considered where:
-
payment was made in error
-
a service was paid for but did not commence
-
Rural Esteem is unable to deliver the agreed service
-
exceptional circumstances apply (assessed case-by-case)
Refunds, where approved, will generally be processed using the original payment method.
5. When Refunds Are Not Provided
Refunds will not be provided where:
-
a service has already commenced or been delivered
-
outcomes differ from expectations (as Rural Esteem does not guarantee outcomes)
-
engagement ends by participant choice after commencement
-
delays arise due to third-party services, referrals, or external factors
Rural Esteem provides advocacy and navigation support, not outcome-based services.
6. Cancellation by Participants
If you need to cancel a paid service:
-
please notify Rural Esteem as soon as possible
-
refunds (if any) will depend on how much of the service has already been delivered
-
Late cancellations may not be eligible for a refund.
7. Cancellation by Rural Esteem
Rural Esteem reserves the right to cancel or pause a service where:
-
ethical boundaries are at risk
-
safety concerns arise
-
circumstances change beyond our control
Where this occurs, and a fee has been paid for an undelivered service, an appropriate refund will be considered.
8. Consumer Law
Nothing in this policy limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
If a service is not provided with due care and skill, or does not match what was agreed, you may be entitled to a remedy under law.
